Why manifest?

Western philosophy really puts an importance on manifestation, yet anything anyone has ever heard about buddhism and other eastern philosophies has always involved ambition and desire to be something that we must rid ourselves of.  So how does one begin to reconcile east and west?  How about this?  One can equally be blamed for acting all the time which involves not thinking, or thinking all the time which involves not acting.  They are both wrong, and the only people who believe they have the one true faith or discipline are the ones who haven't even really gone far within their tradition.  If one embraces buddhism yet rejects the practices or the discipline, not only are they doing something halfway, but they will think that the system is very one sided.  Yet any system, if taken to it's advanced stages, will balance itself.  It is the unaccomplished practitioner that carries ego and pride in their knowledge.  They have not seen the truth, that one must act when they are called to act, and sit when they are called to sit, and we must act well, and sit well.  There is a time for everything, and a purpose for every system or discipline or religion.

Thus, it is NECESSARY to learn to manifest.  We have a responsibility to ourselves and to the world to learn how to DO something that we are trying to do.
